General

What is the schedule for the conference?

This year’s conference will take place Monday, August 10 – Wednesday, August 12. Programming will begin Monday morning and run through late afternoon on Wednesday.

Please refer to our draft agenda for more details. We will update the agenda as we finalize details for the 2026 conference.

What is the conference theme this year?

This year’s theme, “Amplifying Hope: Together Toward Tomorrow,” highlights the strength of the collective community working together to end domestic violence. The conference will honor past survivors and leaders of our movement and amplify the voices, leadership and expertise of survivors to guide us into a safer tomorrow

Will the conference be held virtually?

No, all sessions will be held in-person in Austin, TX. There will not be an option to attend remotely.

Is registration required to attend the conference?

Yes, registration is required to attend. All attendees must register online before 11:59 pm ET on July 24th, 2026. There will not be any option to register onsite. Only paid attendees will be permitted to attend conference events, including all sessions, meals, and the Dance Party. Unpaid guests without a registration badge will not be allowed into the conference spaces.

Who should attend the conference?

This conference is designed for:

  • Survivors who are passionate to create change and de-stigmatize domestic violence
  • Advocates, allies, and leaders working to shift power back to survivors
  • Stakeholders, legislators, and staffers working to create policy and funding to best support survivors
  • Community and corporate leaders dedicated to creating safe and healthy relationships
How many attendees are expected to be at the conference?

We are expecting over 700 individuals to attend this year!

Registration and Payment

How do I register for the conference and how much does it cost?

Please visit our registration site to complete your registration and view pricing details.

What does my ticket include? What does it not include?

Your ticket includes all conference sessions and some meals. Please see our tentative agenda for more specifics on included meals. The Tuesday evening reception will offer hors d’oeuvres/heavy appetizers, but not a seated dinner. Your ticket does not include flights to/from the conference or your hotel stay.

How can I request an invoice for registration?

Invoice requests can be sent to [email protected]. In your request, please specify:

  1. The name of your organization (if applicable)
  2. The contact person(s) for your organization, with mailing and email address
  3. The name(s) of all attendees
How can I pay by check?

Checks can be made payable to the National Domestic Violence Hotline and sent to: PO Box 90249, Austin, TX 78709. Please include “2026 Conference Registration” in the check memo and be sure to share your contact information. Once payment is received, you will be sent a voucher code to apply for your online registration.

How can I get a receipt for my registration payment?

A receipt was sent to the email address provided for each registrant. If you did not receive this email, be sure to check your spam and junk folders. If you still need assistance obtaining a receipt, please email [email protected].

Changes, Cancelations, Refunds, and Registration Transfers
  • You can make changes to your registration, including cancellation, on our registration website. Please click “Already Registered?” and enter your confirmation number or click the link from your confirmation email.
  • If you can no longer attend but would like someone else to attend in your place, please contact [email protected] to process the substitution.
  • You may cancel before 11:59 pm CT on Friday, July 10, 2026, for a partial refund, less a $175 cancelation fee per registration canceled. Refunds will be issued to the method of payment used at registration. We are not able to issue refunds after the July 10 deadline.

How can I request accessibility accommodations?

You will be asked to note any accommodation requests during the online registration process. If you have accessibility requests related to your hotel stay, please coordinate with your hotel directly.

I registered for the conference but did not receive a confirmation email.

If you did not receive a confirmation email and receipt to the email address used to register, please check your spam and junk folders. If you are still unable to find it, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Can I use grant funds to attend this conference?

Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grantees interested in using OVW grant funding to cover the costs of attending this event must contact their program managers to make the request. If helpful, they can use this form to do so.

Office of Family Violence Prevention and Services (OFVPS) and Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) grant funds may be eligible for use to attend this conference. Please contact your program officer to discuss the eligibility of expenses, including registration, travel, and lodging.

Do Hotline Community Members still receive a discount on conference registration?

We have sunset our paid membership program as of 2025. Anyone interested in joining The Hotline Community can do so free of charge.

We will not be able to offer registration discounts to members this year.

Planning Your Trip

Are there any discounted hotel accommodations for the conference?

The conference has secured a block of discounted-rate rooms for conference attendees. Be sure to book your hotel soon for best availability!

To reserve your room online, please visit our conference hotel booking link.

To reserve over the phone, please call Marriott Central Reservations at 1-888-236-2427 and reference “National Domestic Violence Conference.” Please confirm that the rate you are quoted matches the rate in the online booking link to ensure you are in the correct block. Note that Marriott Reservations will never ask you to prepay or tell you that the cost is non-refundable. If you receive that information, you may be booking through a third party.

When should I arrive? When should I plan to leave?

We expect our conference programming to begin around 8:00 am CT on Monday, August 10, and wrap up around 2:00 pm CT on Wednesday, August 12. We recommend arriving by Sunday evening to be ready for an early start Monday and planning to leave Wednesday evening so you don’t miss our closing session.

Session Information

Where can I find all sessions and events for the conference?

You will be able to find everything you need to know about the 2026 National Conference on Domestic Violence in the conference app!  With the app, you can find your schedule, relevant updates, times, locations, maps of the facility, surveys, and more. The app will become available a few weeks before the conference.

How do I download the conference app?

An email with app access instructions will be sent to all registered attendees a few weeks before the conference. Be sure to keep an eye on your inbox for more information!

Do I need to sign up for breakout sessions in advance?

Yes, registering for breakout sessions in advance will help us ensure we have everything you need during that session. This includes materials, seating, and setup or accessibility requirements.

Can I register for sessions later?

Absolutely. However, we recommend registering early since seats fill up quickly, and priority will be given to those who have pre-registered. We want you to enjoy the conference without interruptions. By registering ahead of time for a session, we can ensure we have everything you need.

Can I get slides from the conference sessions?

Not all presenters give permission to share their slides outside of their session(s), but we will share for the ones that do.

At the Conference

What technology will I need to be able to participate at the conference?
  • If you plan to use the official conference app, you will need a smartphone or tablet along with access to the email address you used when registering for the conference.
  • Some attendees like to bring their laptop to take notes, while others prefer a notebook and pen. It’s up to you!
Can I record sessions?

No, recordings of sessions are not permitted.

If I am triggered during this conference, where can I get help or support?

If you find yourself in crisis or in need of emotional support during the conference, please visit the registration desk during conference hours to be connected to an on-site advocate. For support outside conference hours, please contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233, text “START” to 88788, or chat with an advocate at thehotline.org.

What are the health and safety protocols at the conference?

We encourage all attendees to make their own choices for their health and safety, and we ask that you respect the choices of others. This is an in-person conference, so please distance or mask as you feel comfortable and appropriate.

Is space available onsite for nursing mothers?

Yes, there will be a private nursing room with a refrigerator.

Speakers

How can I become a speaker?

Proposals for 2026 are now closed.

When will I find out if my proposal was selected?

All speakers will be notified by May 22, 2026.

Do I have to register for the conference if I am presenting a session?

Yes, approved speakers must register themselves for the conference and will receive a discounted conference registration of $525 each for up to two (2) presenters per session. Speakers are responsible for their own travel and lodging costs.

Is there a limit to the number of supporting presenters for my session?

We ask that you limit your co-presenters to no more than 3 additional presenters to manage the limited 75-minute time period.

Scholarships

What is the application process?

Scholarship applicants are asked to submit an online application with several short-answer responses. Applications for 2026 are now closed.

When will I hear back on my application?

Scholarship awardees will be notified by May 15, 2026.

What do scholarships cover?
  • National Scholarship recipients will receive one (1) complimentary full conference registration, as well as a travel and lodging stipend to cover travel, hotel, and non-conference meal costs. Attendee is responsible for booking their own travel and hotel accommodations.
  • Local Scholarship recipients will receive one (1) complimentary full conference registration. This scholarship is open to Central Texas area residents only, and does not cover any travel, hotel, or meal costs.
I received a scholarship in the past, can I apply again?

Yes, there is no limitation to being awarded a scholarship for multiple annual conferences.

Awards

What is the Ruth M. Glenn Lifetime Achievement Award?

Introduced at the 2023 National Conference on Domestic Violence, the Ruth M. Glenn Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual who has gone above and beyond by amplifying the voices of victims and survivors, and fostering a culture where domestic violence is not tolerated.

What is the nomination process for this award?

Nominations can be submitted here by May 17, 2026. You may nominate more than one individual, but each nomination must be submitted separately. Awardees will be notified by June 7, 2026.

What is the Emerging Youth Leader Award?

This inaugural award will recognize one outstanding young person (age 18-24) who exemplifies commitment and dedication to ending youth relationship abuse and being a champion for healthy relationships.

What is the nomination process for this award?

When will the awards be presented?

The awards will be presented during plenary sessions at the conference.
